ALL-NIGHTER EVENTS - LOCKINS

Creation holds several events throughout the year. They are all-night sessions at the skatepark that run from 8pm until 7am. The event includes a free hot meal voucher to ensure that all participants eat a meal during the night. Meal vouchers are valid on the night only from 8pm until 6pm the following morning. Maximum of one voucher per participant.

Creation has become incredibly busy, and the LOCKIN events are also attracting a great deal of interest from riders across the country.

You can pre-book your place at a LOCKIN event by calling the centre on (0121) 449 8000 and paying by credit/debit card, or in person at the reception when you next visit.

We receive lots of calls regarding these events so we have put together a few FAQ's below. If these do not answer your questions then please feel free to call us.

What time can we come in from?
The centre closes at 6pm as normal. Centre staff then have 1 hour to clean the centre up, perform the standard safety checks and get the centre ready for the event. Dependant on the event we may not re-open the doors until 8pm, however, with a pre-booked ticket there is no need for you to rush to the centre to queue for a place, you can arrive at any time after 8pm.

Can we leave the building?
Unless parents give explicit instructions to you to remain in the building, you are obviously permitted to leave the premises. However, we encourage all users to remain in the building on the night. There is nothing outside at 1am worth leaving for! - Our shop and cafe are open all night.

What is the minimum age?
Previously we have allowed all ages to attend the LOCKIN events, though parents have accompanied younger riders. This has presented a number of issues and we have therefore restricted the LOCKIN event to a minimum age of 12 and over.

How much is the event?
A LOCKIN Event is £14 per person, regardless of rider or spectator. The reason why we charge the same for a spectator is that we have a maximum occupancy level, and if a large number of spectators turn up it reduces the number of physical active riders that can use the park, and also causes bottlenecks in the park when hoards of spectators stand watching.

What happens at 7am?
The event finishes at 7am, and you are expected to have made arrangement to either make your own way home or be collected at this time. Centre staff will also have worked all night and be tired, they still have to clean up the centre for the following day so will be on-site for a short time after 7am. At the very latest all members of the public are expected to vacate the premises by 7.30am.

Are there any problems/trouble during all-nighter events?
Our events are fully staffed, and include a Centre Manager and a minimum of one fully trained first aider at any one time. The event is usually busy, and there is sometimes a little friction in the early hours of the morning as some people get tired, but anyone causing trouble on the night will be evicted.

Creation has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy on drink/drugs and work closely with West Midlands Police to ensure that these events are run properly. At our request, Police may visit the centre during the night to make their presence known. Users should not be alarmed to this, it is routine. Smoking and vaping is prohibited in the building.

What else happens during the night?
Dependent on the level of interest, we will hold competitions at stages through the night. The skatepark also has music playing all night to keep you energised and riding hard!

Do you actually lock the doors?
No. We call the event a LOCKIN, however for obvious fire safety rules we can not physically lock the doors. Access to fire exits is maintained at all times.

Do I need to fill in a form or get parental consent?
If you have visited the centre before (not a LOCKIN) then you will be on our database, you DO NOT need to fill in a form.
If you are over 18 and have NOT visited us before then you DO need to fill in a registration form.
If you are under 18 and have NOT visited us before then you DO need to fill in a registration form and will need signed consent from your parent/guardian.
NO FORM - NO ENTRY

Users are not permitted in the adjoining climbing centre during the night.
